A few of the makeup looks I did in the past month💕 Thankful for my clients and other artists that hire me 🙏

Sounds simple enough. However, most don't realize that they are using expired product. Besides the actual expiry date, makeup products expire within a certain time frame once opened. Look for an icon that looks like an opened can. It will will tell you how many months that product is good for once opened. For example, most mascaras expire after 3 months. Most liquid and cream products expire after 12 months. Make sure you are checking the packaging!

One of our August brides😍 Jairah wanted a voluminous low bun along with a soft glam. She originally wanted to have extensions applied to achieve the volume she wanted as she does not have the length. No extensions were used for this hairstyle, just some magic with a hair donut 😅

Be careful when using shimmery blushes. Shimmer accentuates your features so you want to avoid shimmer if you have large pores, acne of troubled skin on your cheeks.

Eye creams are designed specifically for your under eye area. Why do you need it? The area around your eyes is one of the thinnest and most sensitive areas of your body. You need product specifically designed to penetrate the area to deliver the hydration it needs. You want to avoid regular moisturizer as they may contain ingredients that are too strong for your under eye. Note, most eye creams are only meant to be used under the eye area. There are eye creams that can be applied all around the eye but are not as common. Also note, you might want to purchase an eye cream for a specific concern: dark circle, puffiness, fine lines, etc.

Pancaking is a technique where you pull and tug on your hair to make the braid bigger/fuller. The key is not securing (or you can loosely secure) the ends so you can actually pull on your hair. I like to hold the braid loosely with one hand and pull hair with my other hand.

Cut your strip lashes into more manageable pieces. I recommend cutting into 3 pieces but it all depends on the lashes and your eyes. This also avoids lifting at the corners, especially at the inner. I find this trick helpful with thicker, stubborn lash bands.

Refresh your mascara with Saline Solution! Just a reminder that most mascaras do expire after 6 months so don't use it past its expiry. You risk getting an eye infection. You can always check how long a product is good for after opening on the packaging.

If you have dark circles under your eye, colour correct first before you use your concealer! The colour wheel will be your best friend. For fairer skin tone, use a light peach/salmon colour. For deeper skin tone, use a darker orange. This cancels out the dark area. You can then proceed to conceal. If you find your under area looks washed out, it's because you didn't colour correct or you used a concealer shade that is way too light for you! For fair skin, I use @hardcandylife. For deeper skin, I use @vasanticosmetics dark circle eraser

Think about your primer and foundation. Do you ever find your foundation not sitting on your skin? Make sure your primer and foundation have the same base! If your foundation is silicone based, use a primer that is also silicone based.

Everything starts with skin care! The more you take care of your skin, the less likely you'll need to cover anything with makeup. Skin prep before makeup application is also very important. You need to make sure you start with a clean and moisture face. Otherwise, the makeup you put on won't sit properly. As part of our makeup service, we take care of your skin prep!

Fun fact: I actually only use Eyeshadow instead of an eyeliner for my brides! Unless of course the bride specifically asks for an eyeliner 😊 I mostly use a dark brown shadow mixed with a little bit of black. This also works well if you have a smaller than average eye.
